Does the RainbowMaker need to be in direct sunlight?

The RainbowMaker (RM1588, RM1588H, RM1588-D) only works when direct sunlight hits the crystal. It is best to place in a window that you know will receive a ton of direct sunlight. The Standing Rainbow Maker (RM1586) should be placed on a window sill or shelf that gets strong, direct sunlight.
